Word Origin & Etymology
First recorded in the early 17th century, formed from the prefix 'un-' ('not') and 'biased', the past participle of 'bias', which derives from French 'biais' ('slant' or 'oblique'), a term originally used in the game of lawn bowls for a ball weighted to curve to one side.
