Word Origin & Etymology
Borrowed in the late 15th century from Middle French or directly from Latin indēlēbilis ('indestructible, permanent'), formed from the privative prefix in- ('not') and dēlēbilis ('capable of being destroyed or erased'), from the verb dēlēre ('to blot out, efface').
