Any of several small, bottom-dwelling freshwater fishes belonging primarily to the families Balitoridae and Gastromyzontidae, native to fast-flowing streams in Asia, characterized by a flattened body and specialized pelvic and pectoral fins that act as suction cups to grip smooth rocks in strong currents.
